I'm from Europe (czech republic), and I'm wandering, how is it with ICQ network in USA, UK and all over the world.
In europe it's quite popular. Write pls your experiences and opinions.

I've never heard of that kind of network before. I've only used wireless networks and one that plugs into the wall, like the computers they have in college. What is this kind of network like? How is it different from the others?

ICQ (as in "I Seek You") is an IM, voice and SMS program that has been around for quite a while. It's similar to Skype in terms that you can search for people in various ways. I'm in the UK and I used to use it way back around 1999 after using various forms of text-based relay chat and before MSN and the like became popular. I haven't used it in any serious way for a long time though I still have the address. I suppose MSN and Skype just overtook it in popularity and people migrated there. I really liked ICQ but I don't have enough contacts there anymore to make it worthwhile.

sorry about messing with word network.
That's fun. In czech republic, Slovakia and bordering countries, I know weeeeery few people, who are using msn. Skype, yes, it's wery popular. But for text messaging, we use rather icq, than skype. Then someon uses jabber or irc - but no aim.
It's funny, how it is in Europe and America.
